Hoti: I expect the agreement on the dinar to be reached next week in Brussels
Analyst Afrim Hoti told Kosovo Online that he expected a solution for the Serbian dinar to be reached at the next meeting scheduled for next Thursday between negotiators within the dialogue framework in Brussels.
"Yes, I definitely think that an agreement will be reached at the next meeting. In my view, the issue of the Serbian currency is exaggerated without any need, and it seems that both negotiators, both from Serbia and Kosovo, have expressed their readiness to find a solution. It is definitely urgently needed, primarily for the Serbs living in Kosovo to be able to enjoy their rights and be equal with other citizens. The political marathon between the two countries will end next week," Hoti said.
He emphasized that pressure from the international community was needed.
"Pressure is necessary, especially considering the lack of communication between the two governments, between Serbia and Kosovo. It has already been demonstrated that without real and serious pressure from the international community, there will be no agreement. In this regard, I believe that Western powers are determined to take the necessary steps to persuade the parties to reach an agreement," the analyst concluded.
