Former Kosovo Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj has stated that Kosovo has lost its strategic dialogue with the United States while Serbia is launching its own, adding that Kosovo is the only country in the Balkans that remains isolated.

In a post on Facebook, Hoxhaj said that failures carrying serious consequences for Kosovo have become a governing pattern.

“Kosovo is the only country in the Balkans that is isolated. Failures with serious consequences for Kosovo are no longer breaking news—they have become a model of governance. While the country remains hostage to the confrontational policies of Kurti’s government, our strategic allies are deepening their cooperation with Serbia. Kosovo has lost its strategic dialogue with the United States, while Serbia is launching its own. This represents a setback with serious consequences for our national interest,” Hoxhaj said.

According to Hoxhaj, the consequences of these failures will not be confined to diplomacy but will also affect Kosovo’s security, economic development, foreign investment, energy sector, and its ability to advance toward Euro-Atlantic integration.

“In international politics, every step backward creates an advantage for someone else. Kosovo cannot afford the luxury of isolation. We are a state that achieved its freedom and independence in partnership with the United States and our Western allies. Therefore, restoring trust with the United States and re-establishing a strategic dialogue must become a national priority,” Hoxhaj said.
