Jovanovic with Foti: Continued EU enlargement is important for the region and overall stability of Europe

Serbian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Nevena Jovanovic met with Italy’s Minister for European Affairs Tommaso Foti, and during the talks it was jointly assessed that the future of the Western Balkans lies in the European Union, with the assessment that the continuation of the enlargement process is important both for the region and for the overall stability and prosperity of Europe.

Jovanovic met with Foti in Skopje, on the margins of the 11th Forum of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).

“Talks focused on the process of European integration of the Republic of Serbia and the Western Balkans, with emphasis placed on Italy’s strong and continuous support for the region’s European path,” the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

In an open and constructive conversation, as stated, the interlocutors assessed that bilateral relations between Serbia and Italy are at a very high level, with intensive political dialogue and close economic cooperation that has significant potential for further improvement.
