Jovanovic: It should be expected that the US will correct Kuti regarding the "Greater Albania"

Experienced diplomat Vladislav Jovanovic states that Albin Kurti made a risky political venture into North Macedonia, but the absence of a US reaction should be understood within the prism of their interests and the tolerance limit they have toward Pristina, Kurir reports.

Jovanovic believes that Kurti in Skopje "threw down the gauntlet" that had not been seen before and that such a move demonstrates the misalignment between his and Western interests.

"Kurti has a clear function to provoke, take risks, and exert combined pressure on Serbia to force a reaction, which would mean a conflict with NATO. However, America doesn't want that conflict, even though it benefits from keeping Serbia under constant pressure. In relation to Kurti, American interests align up to a certain point. But Kurti has shown himself to be disobedient and that he is not satisfied with merely solidifying Kosovo's statehood, which is what the US desires. He also has ambitions to create a Greater Albanian conglomerate in this region, and it should be expected that America will correct him in this pursuit," Jovanovic said.
