Kallas: Formation of government encouraging, I’m ready to host high-level meeting

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas congratulated Albin Kurti this evening on the election of the new government, stating that it is encouraging news and provides new momentum for progress in the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue, adding that she is ready to soon host a high-level meeting.

"After more than a year of political deadlock, the formation of Kosovo’s new government is encouraging news. Congratulations to Albin Kurti," Kallas wrote on the social network X.

She stressed that reforms are now important, noting that it is the fastest way to unlock EU support worth hundreds of millions of euros and to make progress on the path toward the Union.

"This is new momentum for progress in EU–Kosovo relations and in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. I am ready to host a high-level meeting soon," Kallas stated.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos also congratulated Kurti.
