The KFOR mission in Kosovo stated, in response to RTS’s question about the opening of a military drone factory in Gnjilane, where kamikaze drones will also be produced, that they do not comment on economic matters, but that they regularly monitor Kosovo’s airspace.

“We will not comment on questions related to economic production. Therefore, for any comment regarding this matter, we will refer you to the institutions in Kosovo. KFOR remains focused on carrying out its longstanding UN mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999,” the mission’s response states.

The response emphasizes that KFOR regularly monitors Kosovo’s airspace.

“KFOR regularly monitors Kosovo’s airspace, using all means and resources available to it, in accordance with its existing authorities and mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999. It is essential that all activities in the airspace be appropriately coordinated with KFOR in order to prevent tensions and ensure safety, for the benefit of all who live in Kosovo and for regional stability,” KFOR specified.
