The Assembly of Kosovo has adopted a resolution on the protection of the “historical truth and the dignity of war victims,” proposed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo. The resolution was passed with 90 votes in favor.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo stated that it welcomes the adoption of the resolution, emphasizing that the support of all parliamentary groups demonstrates that full institutional consensus must exist on issues concerning victims and national history.

According to the DPK, this represents an important moment of political responsibility, in which the Assembly rose above party differences in order to protect historical truth and pay tribute to the victims of the war and their families.

“The adoption of this resolution is proof that, when there is political will, our institutions can act in unity to protect the fundamental values of our state. The Democratic Party of Kosovo underscores that safeguarding the truth about the liberation war and showing respect for the victims is not a matter of political debate, but a permanent institutional and moral obligation. The DPK will continue to be engaged to ensure that such decisions are implemented in practice and that historical truth is protected from any attempt at distortion or relativization. The DPK thanks all members of parliament who voted in favor of this resolution today, demonstrating responsibility and respect for historical truth and the dignity of war victims,” the statement said.
