Kozarev meets with advisor to the Governor of Florida

Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Dusan Kozarev, met today in Belgrade with T.J. Villamil, advisor and one of the closest associates of the Governor of Florida, President of eMerge Americas—the largest business forum in that U.S. state—and former Director of Select Florida, Florida’s state investment agency.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Kozarev and Villamil praised the growing trend of intensified business cooperation between Serbia and the United States, with particular emphasis on the potential of existing and planned ties with Florida.

It was noted that the soon-to-be-launched Air Serbia direct flight between Belgrade and Miami, along with the opening of a Consulate General in that city, will bring numerous long-awaited benefits to the growing Serbian diaspora.

These developments are also expected to stimulate a wide range of additional connections, especially in the fields of information technology, trade, tourism, and culture.

The two interlocutors agreed that there remains significant untapped potential for expanding bilateral exchange, and that more frequent thematic events should be held in the future, both in Florida and in Serbia—particularly in light of the interest expressed by American companies in investing in Serbia, as emphasized by Villamil during the meeting.
