Kosovo’s Prime Minister in a caretaker capacity, Albin Kurti, stated that he hopes the Assembly will be constituted tomorrow and that Nenad Rasic will be elected as Deputy Speaker of Parliament from the ranks of the Serbian community, reports Kosova Press.

“I hope that we will complete the constitution tomorrow by electing Nenad Rasic, who recognizes the Republic of Kosovo, works for the institutions, and is the minister who has done the most for the Serbian community in our country,” Kurti said.

The constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly was once again interrupted yesterday, after Nenad Rasic, for the second time, failed to secure enough votes to be elected Deputy Speaker of Parliament from the Serbian community.

The candidate for that position was chosen by lot, but majority MPs systematically rejected all candidates coming from the Serb List.

Since Rasic also did not receive sufficient support, Speaker of Parliament Dimal Bashs suspended the session, noting that the Assembly administration would inform MPs when it will resume, as consultations will take place in the meantime.

The continuation has been scheduled for tomorrow at 11 a.m., the Parliament’s Media Office announced.
