Kurti: I'd better become the chief prosecutor, but that's impossible
Prime Minister Albin Kurti, criticizing the judicial system in Kosovo, said that every day he realized more and more that "it would be best if he became the chief prosecutor", Koha reports.
Presenting the 2023 budget in Peja on Saturday, Kurti also commented on the justice system, which had been recently criticized by government officials after a series of failures had been revealed in the case of the murder of a 35-year-old pregnant woman by her husband in the courtyard of the Gynecology Clinic.
"Every day as Prime Minister, often even listening to Minister Hekuran Murati, it seems to me that the most important step would be to become the Chief Prosecutor. Yes, I cannot be the Chief Prosecutor, you appointed me as the Prime Minister. If both the prosecution and the judiciary do not work as they should, we will be late. Yes, we were late, yes, but less and less and I am optimistic that we will overcome this obstacle as well as the others," Kurti said.
