Following a working visit to Washington, Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic announced that he will visit Kosovo this week, where the company plans to construct two additional modern office buildings. He said that Albin Kurti's administration continues to obstruct and complicate the company's operations but emphasized that Telekom Srbija has successfully withstood those challenges.

"My goal is to provide maximum support to our company in Kosovo and Metohija so that it becomes even stronger, while helping the vulnerable Serbian population remain in the Province and live as normally as possible. On Thursday I will visit our employees there. We have already built new office buildings in North Mitrovica and Gracanica, and now I will announce the construction of two more, even more modern facilities. I want to send a clear message that our objective is to become even stronger, to remain in Kosovo and Metohija as the largest Serbian company with nearly 250 employees, to create new jobs, and to continue providing the best services to our 30,000 customers in the Province. Kurti's administration constantly tries to obstruct us and make our operations more difficult, but we have successfully resisted all such attempts. Most recently, Pristina sought to prevent our Arena Sport channel in Kosovo and Metohija from broadcasting FIFA World Cup matches because one of their Albanian-language television stations already held broadcasting rights. However, we prepared in advance and reached an agreement with FIFA to secure the rights to broadcast the matches in the Serbian language," Lucic said.

He added that MTS services in Kosovo are operating without disruption and described the company's employees there as "true heroes," noting that, despite this, what he described as Pristina's extreme measures continue to create a constant sense of insecurity among the Serbian population, Politika reported.

Lucic also stated that Serbia is on the verge of becoming a center for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Europe.

"Thanks to Serbia's excellent geopolitical position, for which President Vucic deserves the greatest credit, we are on the threshold of becoming a center for artificial intelligence development on the European continent. At present, there are only two global AI hubs—the United States and China—and that is unlikely to change. Europe is significantly behind and will find it difficult to catch up because it regulates AI too heavily while innovating too little. Serbia has a major opportunity to capitalize on its unique position in Europe and become one of the leading destinations for AI development in this part of the world. We are currently in an excellent position, particularly because of the new strategic partnership with the United States, which is investing trillions of dollars in AI, and we should seize that opportunity," Lucic said.

Investment in artificial intelligence was among the main topics discussed during the Telekom Srbija CEO's recent visit to Washington. According to Lucic, the U.S. side sent very encouraging messages.

"In my meetings at the U.S. State Department, the Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Export-Import Bank, I saw a clear willingness to cooperate with Telekom Srbija on various AI-based projects across the Western Balkans. This opens the door for us to work with the world's leading technology companies, such as Nvidia, on AI projects—initially for our region and later for Europe as a whole. It is an enormous opportunity both for our company and for the Serbian state and its citizens," Lucic emphasized.

He added that none of this would be possible without the broader political context, which he said has become highly favorable for Serbia in the United States.

"The overall atmosphere toward Serbia in Washington is excellent. The situation has changed significantly for the better, although there were also positive signals during the Biden administration and while Ambassador Hill was in office. We should take advantage of this momentum, as Serbia is now recognized as a key player in the Western Balkans. The current Strategic Dialogue has also demonstrated that the United States is prepared to invest billions of dollars in our country, including in energy projects," Lucic said.

Regarding Telekom Srbija's business performance, Lucic said that 2026 will be the company's most successful year ever.

"Although 2025 was already a record-breaking year in every respect, this year will surpass all previous results. We are approaching revenues of €3 billion, operating profit will exceed €1.5 billion, and net profit will surpass €500 million. We are establishing companies throughout Europe and around the world and transforming Telekom into a large, successful international corporation. Alongside our excellent growth in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, through TV Newsmax we have entered Poland, which is a large and prosperous market. We are also present in Türkiye, where we offer a highly attractive television package, and, of course, we are preparing to launch as a mobile operator in the United States, which will represent a historic milestone for our business," Lucic announced.

He concluded by saying that the world is entering a new digital era for which Telekom Srbija is fully prepared and in which the company's value will increase dramatically.

Lucic also noted that Serbia's preparations for Expo 2027 are reaching their final stage and that Telekom Srbija will play a key role in the project.

"We will have a dual role at Expo. We will serve as the exclusive telecommunications partner while also presenting our activities in a large, state-of-the-art pavilion. Embassies have already begun contacting us, and we are developing tailor-made technological solutions for each participating country. Several million foreign visitors are expected to come to Serbia, and at least half of them will use our mobile network and SIM cards, which will be highly beneficial for our business. Expo is also an opportunity to showcase our capabilities in two major areas—multimedia and digital services," the Telekom Srbija CEO said.
