Mandic: Serbs in Kosovo do not accept discrimination, they demand what belongs to them

The president of the New Serbian Democracy and representative of the Democratic Front in the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Mandic pointed out that Kosovo Serbs did not agree to discrimination, harassment and violation of basic human rights and freedoms and only demanded what belonged to them, Montenegrin Borba reports.

Mandic emphasized that the Serbs in Kosovo had only seen pain and suffering that had not stopped for decades.

"I hereby send strong support to our compatriots who do not ask for anything that does not belong to them, and the only thing they have seen is the pain and suffering that have not stopped for decades. It has never happened that someone forbade the Serbian patriarch to go to his home in the Patriarchate of Pec "What kind of message does Kurti want to send through political insults for a religious leader," Mandic asked.

He pointed out that it had nothing to do with anything else, except for hatred towards the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian people, and that it was a clear intention to rekindle conflicts.

"On the other hand, we have a responsible and wise approach of the state of Serbia, and Belgrade has shown in action that it can always protect our compatriots in Kosovo and Metohija and preserve peace in the southern province," said Mandic.

When it comes to the "Open Balkans", Mandic said that with this initiative, the countries of the region would benefit in many fields.

"If you are thinking about economic development, the main thing is the easier availability of a diverse labor force, which, potentially, you do not have in sufficient quantity on the domestic market. So, the positive effects of this association are in almost all fields. So Montenegro certainly has a place in the Open Balkans," Mandic said.

Mandic assessed that the previous year was marked by instabilities on the political scene of Montenegro, but also by clear attempts by the parliamentary majority to reach a solution that would bring Montenegro into peaceful political waters.

Mandic believes that the language of dialogue will prevail in Montenegro this year and that political conditions in the country will stabilize.
