Molliqaj: Citizens are not tired of elections, but disappointed in the political scene
The president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dardan Molliqaj, stated that the perception that citizens are tired of frequent elections is not accurate, emphasizing that the real problem is a lack of trust and political inspiration.
Molliqaj said that participation in elections is not connected to physical fatigue, but to disappointment in the political scene.
According to him, what is often interpreted as election fatigue is actually a form of political withdrawal by citizens.
“People do not get physically tired. If there is no political inspiration, people say they do not want to participate. That is not fatigue, it is abstention due to disappointment in political processes,” he said, as reported by Telegrafi.
He added that this situation reflects a lack of convincing offers from political parties.
Molliqaj stressed that elections remain a necessary mechanism for resolving political crises.
“The decision of citizens is important, especially when there is no agreement within the political class. If there are no ideas and inspiration, citizens withdraw,” he said.
He also pointed out that citizens’ participation in electoral processes is directly linked to the political offer presented to them.
