Muharremi: Kurti is Kosovo's greatest evil

Political analyst Shenoll Muharremi stated that acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti is preventing the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly in violation of the Constitution and is destroying democracy.

"A person cannot be considered normal, stable, and reliable when, without any rational reason whatsoever, he suspends the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly. That is what Albin Kurti is doing right now. It was not enough for him to take us to extraordinary elections several times. Nor was it enough that he caused all those crises and committed dozens of violations and breaches of the Constitution. Now, even after the June 7 elections, the certification of the results, and the maximum one-month period for preparations, he is preventing the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly," Muharremi wrote on Facebook.

He also accused Kurti of destroying democracy.

"Kurti is a criminal, or, as he himself would say, Kosovo's greatest super-criminal... because he violates and tramples on the Constitution. He is destroying democracy. He attacks private businesses and destroys the economy. He does not invest in the energy sector, thereby jeopardizing national security as well. He is isolating us and damaging relations with the United States and the EU. He is isolating and impoverishing Kosovo. He is driving young people out of the country. At present, he is the greatest evil this country faces," Muharremi said.

According to him, a person who suspends democracy and paralyzes his own society "is not stable."

"A person who violates the Constitution and jeopardizes the foundations of the state of Kosovo, built with blood and enormous effort and with unprecedented support from the United States and the EU, cannot be considered stable. This man, who no longer even dares to walk down the street like an ordinary citizen but instead goes out accompanied by ten bodyguards, even when walking the 50 meters from the Government building to the Assembly, or as he did last night in Gjakova, has lost control of his actions. He is no longer capable of, nor in a position to, lead a state. And if he were really as good as he portrays himself to be, he would be with his family and would not allow his daughter to grow up without her father. Put differently, if he were a good prime minister, he would raise his child under the same conditions as all the other families he governs in Kosovo. But his family is well provided for, far away from the polluted air here and far away from the public healthcare and education services that he oversees," Muharremi wrote. 

Muharremi said he was convinced that Kosovo would "breathe more easily without Kurti."

"The sooner he leaves, the easier Kosovo will breathe. His time is over. The longer he remains, if he can remain at all after the actions and violations he is committing, the more fragile Kosovo will become," Muharremi concluded.
