Murati: Institutional chaos is a method Kurti uses to remain in power

Former Kosovo Minister of Diaspora Valon Murati assessed that Albin Kurti uses various methods to remain in power, including institutional chaos, social conflict and unrestrained populism.

"Albin Kurti has a talent for endlessly mocking his interlocutors and public opinion with statements about the criteria and sub-criteria that a presidential candidate must meet. He does not treat constitutional deadlines, decisions of the Constitutional Court, laws and the Constitution itself as the framework within which he must operate. On the contrary, he treats them as obstacles to the legitimacy of his actions," Murati wrote on Facebook.

He added that when Kurti was in opposition, votes for him were not a source of legitimacy, but that he considered all political actions through which he attacked the legal and constitutional order to be legitimate.

Murati points out that Kurti now considers the popular legitimacy gained through elections to be something above any legal or constitutional restrictions.

Murati adds that Kurti is not concerned about the institutional and constitutional chaos in which Kosovo finds itself.

"Elections, institutional chaos, social conflict, unrestrained populism, more elections, more criteria and sub-criteria, more institutions in power, perhaps some 'principled' conflict with the great powers of this world, etc. – these are the methods by which he remains in power," Murati said.
