Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Ganimete Musliu stated that, judging by yesterday’s tensions in parliament, Kosovo could soon go to elections and that, if this happens, the responsibility will lie with the ruling majority.

“Based on what happened yesterday in the Assembly, the country will soon go to elections. If the president is not elected within the constitutional deadline and the country heads to elections, the responsibility primarily lies with the ruling majority. They have the mandate; they bear the burden of offering solutions. You cannot seek power and then make excuses when you fail to manage the most basic state processes,” she said.

She added that the opposition is not there to be decorative, but to defend principles and seek sustainable solutions, emphasizing that when the government fails to build bridges of communication, a deadlock becomes inevitable, Gazeta Blic reports.

She assessed that if Kosovo goes to elections again, it will not be a victory for anyone, but a failure of governance.

“If the country goes to elections again, it is not a victory for anyone, but a failure in governance and proof that party interests have been placed above state interests,” Musliu concluded.
