Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Attacks on the property of Serbs and the SOC continue; ethnic incidents are a signal for the international community

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of the Republic of Serbia reacted to the breaking and looting of the family home of Miodrag Kostic from Plemetin, stating that this attack again threatens the Serbs who only want to live peacefully in their homes and visit their holy sites in the Kosovo and Metohija region.

In the statement from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, it is mentioned that Miodrag Kostic's family home in Plemetin was targeted by robbers over the weekend who broke in and looted the garage where he kept valuable tools. It is added that this caused great concern for him and his neighbors in this village "who rightly fear for their safety and property, as their livelihood is endangered in this way".

"With this attack, a series of attacks on the property of the Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church continues this year because just a few days ago, two houses of returnees were robbed in the village of Ljubozda in the municipality of Istok, and yesterday the church in the village of Zupce was also robbed, once again threatening the Serbs who only want to live in peace in their homes and visit their holy sites in the Kosovo and Metohija region. Such intimidation of the Serbs has been particularly prominent since Kurti came to power, during which we have recorded numerous incidents aimed at jeopardizing the survival of the Serbs in the province", the statement emphasizes.

As stated, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija would help the host Mr. Kostic from Plemetin to get back on his feet, and "a series of ethnic incidents is a signal to the international community to do everything to stop the oppression of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and to provide them with basic conditions for living in the 21st century, to live freely and safely in their homelands.
