The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that a man of Albanian ethnicity, in an outburst of senseless hatred, today spray-painted graffiti glorifying the terrorist organization known as the “KLA” in the Serbian village of Dobrotin near Lipljan. He then entered a nearby kindergarten where children were present, shouting, insulting, and provoking the minors. Fortunately, the educators responded calmly and managed to remove him from the kindergarten grounds, the Office said in a statement.

Residents of Dobrotin—home to several hundred Serbs, including parents who bring their children to this kindergarten on a daily basis—have been deeply disturbed by the incident.
“This shameful incident occurred just one day after the Chief Prosecutor in The Hague requested 45-year prison sentences for four leaders of the so-called KLA terrorist organization, which clearly speaks to the gravity of the crimes they are charged with and demonstrates that this criminal ideology remains alive in Kosovo and Metohija,” the statement reads.
The Office emphasized that this was not an isolated incident, noting that identical graffiti had appeared on utility poles in Dobrotin several months earlier.
“This is yet another in a series of threats and part of a deliberate campaign that calls for violence and the persecution of Serbs from their ancestral homes,” the statement added.
Representatives of the local self-government visited the kindergarten and the health clinic, spoke with residents, and considered ways to compensate for the damage incurred.
The Office further underlined that ethnically motivated incidents targeting the Serbian people in Kosovo have been ongoing for years, and that politicians in Pristina—rather than condemning violence and provocations against Serbs—fuel such incidents through inflammatory and anti-Serb rhetoric.
The statement concludes by noting that the Office for Kosovo and Metohija will continue to raise awareness of this and similar incidents through diplomatic channels with all relevant international actors, with a clear demand to improve the security of Serbs in Kosovo, and with the expectation that the perpetrators of this and similar incidents will be appropriately sanctioned.
