Office for Kosovo and Metohija: In the village of Stanisor graffiti “KLA,” provocations against Serbs as Pristina’s election platform
In the village of Stanisor in the municipality of Novo Brdo, which is predominantly inhabited by Serbs, graffiti reading “KLA” was noticed last night, causing concern among the local population, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced, assessing that this was an “open provocation and threat to Serbs in this part of Kosovo and Metohija.”
“Writing graffiti of this kind has for years been one of the favorite methods used by Albanian extremists to intimidate the Serbian population, representing a clear message of hatred and hostility. As is, unfortunately, customary in Kosovo and Metohija during periods of heightened political tension and pre-election campaigns, extremists intensify their activities and crimes, and the incident in Stanisor suggests that this time will be no different,” the statement reads.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija appeals to Serbs not to succumb to provocations in the coming period, and calls on international representatives to clearly and unequivocally condemn the attempts of certain political actors in Pristina to build their election program on hatred towards Serbs.
