Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Klecka was one of the KLA's biggest crimes, Pristina shows no willingness to exhume the victims

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija recalled in a statement that on this day in 1998, traces of one of the biggest crimes committed by KLA members were discovered in the village of Klecka near Lipljan.

The statement says that "the remains of 22 Serbian civilians were found in a lime kiln, and according to eyewitness accounts, many of the victims were tortured and raped before being executed."

"It is an indisputable fact that KLA members carried out a horrific massacre of Serbian civilians during and after the attacks on Orahovac and the surrounding areas in those days, and their brutality and criminal methodicalness are also reflected in the fact that those who had been kidnapped were taken to a remote location to be tortured and killed. The events following the KLA terrorists' incursion into Orahovac were among the worst manifestations of the collapse of humanity during the conflict in Kosovo and Metohija and demonstrate the full monstrosity of members of that terrorist organization," the statement says.

It further states that "today, throughout Kosovo and Metohija, there are numerous sites where the remains of murdered Serbian civilians lie, and Pristina shows no willingness whatsoever to allow exhumations, which would shed light on the fate of many people who are still officially listed as missing."

"The complete absence of humanity and the chauvinistic blindness of the separatist political leadership in Pristina are therefore reflected not only in its treatment of living Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, but also in its treatment of the dead," the statement concludes.
