After Sasa Zlatkovic from Belgrade, who was arrested on July 22 at the Merdare crossing while on his way to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the murder of Serbian harvesters in Staro Gracko, was sentenced to five months in prison by the Basic Court in Pristina, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija responded, stating that this decision was proof that the Kosovo judiciary had a single aim – to oppress and intimidate Serbs.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija reminds that Zlatkovic was arrested for a "verbal offense" while he was on his way to a charity football tournament before the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the murder of Serbian harvesters in Staro Gracko.

"The court in Pristina, of course, does not punish the perpetrators of that massacre but instead persecutes all those who dare to remind that the separatist idea in Kosovo and Metohija was and remains, at its core, terrorist and criminal. The killers of the Serbian harvesters are likely esteemed figures in Albin Kurti's establishment today, just as Azem Kurtaj, who, despite cold-bloodedly shooting at Serbian children on Christmas Eve, is a free man," the statement said.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija emphasizes that Pristina has maintained the same ruling ideology for two and a half decades – "the eradication of the Serbian people."

"The political and judicial structures in Pristina form the core of a criminal structure led by Albin Kurti, and anyone who pretends that some regular democratic institutions operate in Kosovo and Metohija is denying the evident and painful truth – that the eradication of the Serbian people has been the ruling ideology in Pristina for two and a half decades," the statement concluded.
