Oliver Stone: Kosovo is a gangster state

Kosovo is a "gangster" state with a grand aim, stated legendary American film director Oliver Stone in a discussion with journalist Tucker Carlson and Professor Peter Kuznick.

In a conversation about Russian-American relations over the decades, the speakers mentioned American interventions in numerous countries, including the NATO bombing of Serbia in 1999.

Responding to Carlson's question about the point of it all, Stone concluded that it was merely an excuse for the West to go in and "hunt butchers," referring to dictators in Serbia, but that the fundamental goal was destabilization.

"We bombed a city in Europe, Belgrade, in 1999. Think about that," Stone emphasized.

He added that this is American policy - "divide, rule, divide, rule."

He pointed out that Kosovo is "a breach at the deepest level of everything we're talking about."

"They had a referendum which was a bit shady... But, we said they were free, no longer part of Serbia. Such Kosovo is a gangster state with a grand aim. I've been there, I can tell you it's terrible what happened," Stone said.

Professor Kuznick noted that, on the other hand, there is a completely different view in Russia of what happened, compared to the West.

"About 96% of Russians believe that what happened was a war crime. The US establishes an international order based on rules, which meant going through the UN. But, when they couldn't get it, they did it themselves, militarily," Kuznick reminded.
