Orban asked Vucic: The enemies want to harm Serbia; think about releasing the Kosovo policemen

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said today, after the session of the Strategic Council for Cooperation between Hungary and Serbia, that the official Budapest was carefully monitoring the situation in the north of Kosovo and that he considered it unacceptable that the results of the elections in which the turnout had been around four percent were accepted as legal, RTS reports.

Orban stated that the enemies could not wait to harm Serbia and called on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to consider releasing the three Kosovo police officers who had been arrested by the Serbian Police on June 14 in the territory of central Serbia.

"Three Kosovo policemen; please dear Aleksandar, think about it, the enemies are eager to harm Serbia, it is such a case in which I think it would be good for you to listen to Hungary's recommendation and return those three Albanians to Kosovo, and I think it would help you to advance your own cause. That's why I'm asking you to think about it," Orban said at the Palic Lake, at a joint press conference with the presidents of Serbia and Hungary, Aleksandar Vucic and Katalin Novak, and the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic.

He added that in Hungary "You can clearly see what is being done with the Serbs".

"I think it is unacceptable for the international community to accept the elections with a turnout of only four percent as legal, and the results as well. We Hungarians see it and it is clear to us," Orban said.
Orban pointed out that Serbia was a key country in the Western Balkans and that its strengthening was also good for Hungary.

"Serbia is not in NATO and the EU, Hungary is, Serbia is an Orthodox country, and Hungary is Roman Catholic. We are in Central Europe, and Serbia is in the Balkans. But those differences add value to our cooperation, because together we have enormous energy at our disposal, which we can invest in the interest and improvement of the position of our people,'' Orban said.

He emphasized the position that we should cooperate with everyone, at a time when, as he said, in Europe one side did not want to cooperate with another.

"We believe that we should cooperate with everyone, with as many countries as possible. Serbia is a key country in the Western Balkans, and Hungary is the gateway to Europe. We have fantastic opportunities,'' the Hungarian Prime Minister said.
