Kryeziu: Solving a crisis you created yourself does not make you a politician or statesman

Ismet Kryeziu, Executive Director of the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), told Kosovo’s political leaders today that resolving the political and institutional crisis they themselves created does not make them politicians or statesmen, and congratulated them on the “political circus.”

“I am reading many congratulations to political leaders. Should resolving the crisis be a reason to congratulate those politicians who contributed to creating and prolonging the crisis?” Kryeziu asked.

He stressed that a politician’s democracy and political and humane values are measured when they avoid crises and act in the interests of citizens, not when they create crises and ultimately behave like saviors, as if they are offering a solution at the last moment.

“Congratulations on the political circus,” Kryeziu wrote on Facebook.

Members of the Kosovo Assembly elected Justina Shiroka Pula, President of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, as the new president of Kosovo last night.

The vote was completed about ten minutes after midnight.
