Perovic meets UNMIK Deputy Head: More concrete engagement by the international community needed to protect Serbs
Mayor of Zubin Potok Milos Perovic met today with Milbert Dongjun Shin, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General at UNMIK, with whom he discussed the position of the Serbian community in that municipality.
Perovic said that the meeting took place at a time of, as he emphasized, increasingly complex political circumstances and growing pressure from the authorities in Pristina against the Serbian community, particularly in the municipality of Zubin Potok.
"During the meeting, I pointed out the numerous problems and challenges that the Serbian people face on a daily basis. I emphasized that unilateral actions, institutional pressure, and the undermining of basic rights further deepen mistrust and undermine security and stability," Perovic said.
He added that he stressed the need for stronger and more concrete engagement by UNMIK and the entire international community in protecting the rights, security, and survival of the Serbian people.
"The Municipality of Zubin Potok remains committed to peace, dialogue, and resolving all problems through institutional channels. At the same time, we will continue to firmly point out every form of discrimination and any threat to the rights and safety of our citizens," Perovic said.
