Serb List: While Serb property is being demolished, Rasic is touring Zubin Potok with Kurti

The Serb List stated today that while, on the orders of Albin Kurti, Serb-owned property at Gazivode Lake, built up over decades, is being demolished and Serbs from Zubin Potok are being arrested, harassed, detained, and subjected to house searches, Nenad Rasic is "parading" through Zubin Potok alongside Kurti, cutting ceremonial ribbons and, as the party put it, "smiling in the face of Serb suffering."

"Just a few kilometers from the place where Rasic and Kurti are posing today lie the ruins of Serb holiday homes, family houses, and hotels—people's entire lives destroyed on the orders of Pristina and those with whom Rasic is now triumphantly posing for photographs. Yet he pays no attention to this because he himself once voted in Kurti's government in favor of expropriating the property of Serb households in Zubin Potok and Leposavic. Nor does he ask Kurti or his ministers, with whom he proudly claims to work 'jointly,' about these actions," the Serb List said in a statement. 

The party also argued that, "just as he did not object when Serbs were accused of a non-existent genocide, today, on the anniversary of the criminal Operation Storm, Rasic stands smiling beside Kurti." 

"That should be enough for anyone with common sense. It is clear whom Rasic represents—and it certainly is not the Serb people," the statement added. 

The Serb List further stated that it comes as no surprise that Serbs did not vote for Rasic in the previous elections, claiming that he "had to obtain his parliamentary seat with Albanian votes, effectively taking the mandate away from the Serb people."

"And that is why today he attacked the Serb List, which is fighting to protect the guaranteed rights of the Serb people from him and his patron Kurti. The legacy of their policies consists of demolished Serb homes, endangered Serb holy sites, Serbs imprisoned, and the departure of Serbs from their ancestral homes," the statement said.

The Serb List also maintained that, unlike Rasic, it has consistently stood by the Serb people and will continue to support every Serb whom it considers to have been unjustly persecuted or arrested, as well as every law-abiding Serb household.

"While Serbs were being arrested without access to legal counsel, detained without grounds, and convicted without evidence, Nenad Rasic was nowhere to be found to ask how those people and their families were coping, how they were surviving, why they had been detained, why proceedings were being conducted against them without credible evidence, or why their property was being demolished," the party stated.

It added that, as it has done so far, the Serb List will continue to fight "on every front"—when Serbs are arrested, Serb homes are demolished, Serbs are harassed at Gazimestan, laws are violated, or the Serbian Orthodox Church is endangered.

"It is our duty to stand by our people despite the fact that the law is not being respected and the rights of the Serb people are being trampled. Serbs know that we are with them wherever these events occur, and they also know that Rasic remains silent. The Serb List remains committed to its policy of protecting the rights and interests of the Serb people and will continue to oppose every action that threatens the survival, security, and dignity of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, fully aware that, in these times of occupation, we must preserve both our people and life in these areas. The seat next to Kurti, however, will certainly be looked after by Rasic," the statement concluded.

Earlier today, Rasic attended the inspection of the reconstructed Ibar-Lepenac canal in the center of Zubin Potok together with acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, acting Minister of Spatial Planning Artane Rizvanolli, and Faruk Mujka, Director of the Ibar-Lepenac company.
