Petkovic: Kurti and his police are imposing apartheid on Serbs
The Director of the Serbian Government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that Kosovo's caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Kosovo Police are imposing apartheid on the Serbian community, following the ban on repainting a mural of Patriarch Pavle in North Mitrovica and the removal of a billboard in Gracanica bearing the inscription "Vidovdan Covenant."
"The ban on repainting the mural of Patriarch Pavle, for which the municipality had granted approval, as well as today's removal of the billboard in Gracanica bearing the inscription 'Vidovdan Covenant,' which was also erected with municipal authorization, speaks volumes about the apartheid that Kurti and his police are imposing on the Serbs," Petkovic wrote in a post on the social media platform X.
He added that, despite such measures, the spirit of Vidovdan remains alive among the Serbian people.
"Vidovdan lives in the heart of every Serb, and no form of coercion will ever change that," he said.
Yesterday, the Kosovo Police detained artist Stefan Stojanovic Sleš and issued him a misdemeanor citation in downtown North Mitrovica after he attempted to repaint a mural depicting Patriarch Pavle and Metropolitan Amfilohije, which had previously been painted over.
