Petkovic: Kurti’s anti-Serb tirade in his policy address – His only program is terror against Serbs
Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic stated that the nominee for the new Kosovo government, Albin Kurti, once again delivered a “catalogue of insults” against Belgrade in his address before parliament, showing that his only political program is the persecution of Serbs and everything Serbian.
“Albin Kurti once again delivered a catalogue of insults against Belgrade and an anti-Serb tirade in his so-called ‘policy address,’ thereby confirming once more that he has no capacity to be anything more than a frustrated warmonger, and that his only political program is terror against Serbs and the persecution of all things Serbian,” Petkovic said in a public statement.
He added that both Kurti and his address were defeated today, which, according to him, proves that Kurti’s tyranny has collapsed.
Petkovic said that in Kurti’s “failed and tendentious” address, neither the intensity of hatred toward all things Serbian nor his daily laments about an alleged Serbian threat came as a surprise.
“A man who has never stepped out of the skin of a spiteful little Serb-hater cannot have political vision or the capacity to produce anything positive for his people and his voters,” Petkovic emphasized.
He assessed that Kurti believes he does not need to solve Kosovo’s accumulated problems, since he continually and baselessly blames Serbia and Serbs for them, and that his anti-Serb policy reflects his inability to offer his electorate anything else.
That is why, he continued, Kurti boasts about the unilateral and illegal closure of Serbian institutions and the crises and tensions he provokes, which have led him to start losing international support.
“The senseless derogatory labels Kurti uses to describe Serbia and its policies are a pitiful excuse for his constant aggression toward Serbs and an attempt to disguise the fact that the only real threat to peace and stability in the region comes from Pristina and the deranged pan-Albanian political matrix to which Kurti is blindly devoted,” Petkovic stated.
He added that political failure and the lack of a positive program cannot be hidden forever behind slogans about an ‘aggressive Belgrade,’ since warmongering rhetoric does not put food on the table.
“Belgrade will continue to build peace and coexistence, to advocate compromise, and to support the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija—whether Kurti likes it or not. He can go on with his meaningless tirades, but even his own voters no longer believe them, which is why they punished him at the polls,” Petkovic concluded.
Earlier today, Kurti said in his policy address that his government had faced numerous provocations and frequent attacks from Serbia, which, according to him, had several times deployed its army to the border with Kosovo, stressing the importance of investment in security.
