Petkovic: President Vucic's courageous speech in New York, he defended our national interests in Kosovo and Metohija

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said that it is very important that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, in his address to the United Nations General Assembly, explained that the systematic dismantling of the UN system and the order based on international law began precisely in the skies over Serbia, and that in doing so he also defended Serbian state and national interests in Kosovo.

“Last night, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, in yet another courageous and historic speech, firmly and unequivocally defending Serbian state and national interests, once again confirmed that he is a true statesman who is accountable to no one but the citizens of his country. Serbia is the home of a small but proud people who deserve precisely a leader like Aleksandar Vucic, and there is no doubt that as long as he leads our country through the storms of turbulent international relations, we can count on our voice of freedom being heard and respected in the world,” Petkovic said in a statement.

He pointed out that it is very important that President Vucic once again explained to the international public that the systematic dismantling of the UN system and the order based on international law began in the skies over Serbia, and that the injustices unlawfully inflicted on Serbia were a warning and foreshadowing of the instability that the entire world is indirectly or directly experiencing today.

“Every decent Serb listened with pride as President Vucic defended our state and national interests in Kosovo and Metohija, because if we ourselves agree to forget and remain silent in the face of the injustices inflicted upon us, we will be erased from history, or only other people's interpretations of us and falsifications of our past will appear in it,” Petkovic warned.

He expressed his belief that the citizens of Serbia will continue to support the sovereignist policy of survival and progress embodied by Aleksandar Vucic, and that the “fearless voice of a free and proud Serbia will also be heard before the UN General Assembly for many years to come”.

“Unlike those whose only plan and program of political activity consists of violence, threats to women with rape and retaliation against political opponents, but who have no position whatsoever on international relations and what is happening in the world, nor any position on our Kosovo and Metohija, President Vucic showed how a statesman who has Serbia in his heart and who cares about our country and its future acts strategically and courageously,” Petkovic added.

In his speech before the UN General Assembly, Vucic, among other things, pointed out that the order based on respect for the United Nations Charter and the law founded on it no longer exists, and that all countries that recognized the “unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo” participated in trampling on the UN Charter.
