Petronijevic: Charges against Radoicic are pure fabrication; During the war he had no contact with civilians, only with KLA members

Regarding the decision of the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina, which issued a warrant for 20 Serbs suspected of committing war crimes in Djakovica in 1999, including Milan Radoicic, his lawyer Goran Petronijevic stated that the accusation is pure fabrication and that during that period Radoicic had no contact with civilians, except with members of the KLA formations, Novosti reported.
Petronijevic explained that his client, Milan Radoicic, was performing regular military service from March 1998 to March 1999, and that his service was extended until June 1999.
"As far as Milan Radoicic is concerned, I know for certain that this is pure fabrication because from March 1998 to March 1999 he was serving his regular military duty, as a 20-year-old soldier. He had nothing to do with the alleged events, and in March 1999, like everyone else during the declaration of a state of war, his service was extended until June. Throughout his military service, he was stationed as a soldier in a border battalion in Prizren and on Pastrik. He had no contact with civilians whatsoever, except with members of KLA formations and those from Albania who were infiltrating through the Pastrik area," Petronijevic told Novosti.
He added that he knows for certain that the accusations against Radoicic are nonsense, although he could not speak for the others involved.
"We can only publicly refute such claims. This is yet another example of the misuse of the judiciary in Kosovo. Radoicic could not have been present in the part of Kosovo they are talking about because he was serving regular military duty on a completely different front until the signing of the Kumanovo Agreement. As for claims that he could have left his unit on leave, that was impossible, as there was no possibility of leaving the unit during wartime," Petronijevic said.
He emphasized that Radoicic is being targeted for other reasons and was included in the case to make it appear more credible.
"We have serious material evidence — his military record book, video footage from Pastrik, and other documentation," lawyer Petronijevic stressed.
