Lawyer Ljubomir Pantovic stated that, upon the prosecutor's order, the police directorate in Pristina handed out dozens of summons to residents of Northern Mitrovica and its surroundings for questioning, on suspicion of allegedly undermining the constitutional order. However, according to Kosovo Online's information, Pristina has suspended this investigation and informed citizens that they do not need to respond to the summons.

"According to what we have learned in recent days, the Directorate for the Investigation of Serious Criminal Offenses of the Kosovo Police, on the order of the Special Prosecution of Kosovo, handed out about 60 summonses to citizens of the northern part of Mitrovica and the surrounding area, stating that they are suspected of committing criminal acts of undermining the constitutional order", Pantovic told reporters in Mitrovica.

He added that, based on what they had managed to find out, "it concerns events from December of last year when barricades were set up in the village of Rudare in the municipality of Zvecan, and all of this lasted for three weeks".

"Fear and discomfort have spread among the people; everyone is afraid. All lawyers and defenders from this area are engaged and available", Pantovic emphasized.

As Kosovo Online learns in the meantime, Pristina has suspended this investigation, and yesterday and today, it informed the suspects that they do not need to respond to the summonses for questioning.

Incidentally, at the end of last year, lists of the Serbs who could be arrested allegedly as "organizers of Serbian protests in northern municipalities" appeared, which Pristina denied.

The State Department also reacted at the time, stating in a press release that they "welcome the assurances of the leadership of Kosovo that there are no lists of Kosovo Serbs to be arrested or prosecuted for peaceful protests/barricades", adding that the rule of law must be respected, and any form of violence was unacceptable and would not be tolerated.
