Diplomatic representatives of the Quint countries and the European Union, who met today with Kosovo's caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti, emphasized the necessity of forming new institutions to enable Kosovo to move forward on its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.

The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, stressed that forming a government is in the interest of Kosovo and its citizens.

“A new government is needed to act in the interest of Kosovo and its citizens, achieving progress on vital issues such as the release of funds and advancement toward Euro-Atlantic integration,” Hargreaves wrote on the social media platform X.

The Italian Embassy in Kosovo also highlighted on Facebook the need for the swift formation of a new government so that Kosovo can make progress toward Euro-Atlantic integration.

Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Aivo Orav, stated on X that the ambassadors agree that Kosovo needs a stable and functional government to move forward.

“The current status quo benefits no one,” Orav stated.

German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, echoed this sentiment.

“Better yesterday than tomorrow. Too many important domestic and international tasks are pending, and progress on vital issues is necessary. This was the main message conveyed by my deputy together with Quint colleagues during the meeting with outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti,” Rohde wrote on the social network Bluesky.

“These institutions are essential to ensure the well-being and prosperity of the citizens of Kosovo,” stated the U.S. Embassy in a post on X.
