Former president of the municipality of North Mitrovica, Milan Radojevic, after being questioned by the Kosovo police, stated that he voluntarily appeared at the station today and remarked that he is extremely proud if his greatest "sin" is working for the institutions of the Republic of Serbia.

Radojevic said that the situation in North Mitrovica is distressing, and he commented on the lack of professionalism in the behavior of the police towards Serbs, as well as during the attempt to serve him with a summons for questioning, as they could not find him at home.

"Everything that is happening today and what happened yesterday speaks of a so-called professionalism of the Kosovo police and their behavior towards Serbs in the north of Kosovo. Seven policemen went around my neighborhood yesterday, from shop to shop, trying to find me and deliver the summons. I am truly shocked by this, because I am the former mayor of this city and the former deputy minister of internal affairs. I am not hiding, my address is well-known to all Mitrovica residents. Seven policemen were going around the neighborhood, disturbing my neighbors, and trying to find me by any means," Radojevic explained.

He pointed out that in the end, the police came to his family and said they would not leave until they contacted him and confirmed his whereabouts.

"At that moment, I was on a trip in central Serbia. I returned, as you can see, immediately. I'm not hiding; I believe that having a clear conscience and integrity is the most important thing. That’s why I came here today to see what this is about, what the problem is. If my biggest 'sin' is working for the institutions of the Republic of Serbia, I am extremely proud. We will see in which direction the process will go and what will happen next," Radojevic told reporters.

He added that he does not know what the police are trying to achieve.

"Whether they are attempting this institutional pressure—this repression is, let's say, directed against the leaders of the Serb List, but all the citizens of this city feel it," Radojevic stated.
