Rrecaj: Self-Determination has the ability to prevent new elections

Lawyer Visar Rrecaj stated that the political crisis regarding the election of Kosovo’s president has been ongoing since December 28, when, according to him, it became clear that there was no willingness to resolve the issue. He criticized attempts by the Self-Determination Movement to reach an agreement with the opposition, describing them as unserious.

According to him, Self-Determination’s offers to opposition parties were not serious.

“The political crisis regarding the election of the president began on December 28, because from that date there has been no willingness from either Self-Determination or the opposition parties to resolve this issue. Everyone knew that no party has enough votes to elect a president without cooperation. I consider the recent meetings of Self-Determination with Democratic Party of Kosovo and Democratic League of Kosovo to be unprincipled, because the opposition parties had a clear position that they do not want to enter the government, while Self-Determination’s attempts were not serious,” Rrecaj said on Teve1.

Rrecaj added that Self-Determination has the ability to prevent elections if there is political will, by entering into serious negotiations with the opposition.
