Rudolph: We told Kurti that we would greatly appreciate a positive signal toward establishing the CSM

German Ambassador to Kosovo, Rainer Rudolph, stated that Berlin has made it clear to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti that it would greatly appreciate it if Kosovo were to take a positive step toward establishing the Community of Serb Municipalities.

In an interview with RTK, Rudolph said that this issue has been discussed for many years.

“The idea of the Community has been part of the dialogue for a long time. We told the Government of Kosovo that we would greatly appreciate a positive signal toward its establishment,” Rudolph said, as reported by Gazeta Express.

Rudolph also spoke about the Law on Foreigners and its implementation in Kosovo.

The German Ambassador said that the focus of international partners has been on how the law is implemented in practice. He emphasized that their position was that implementation should be carried out carefully, so as not to create difficulties in the everyday lives of citizens, especially for minority communities.

“We were in very close contact with the government and with the mayors of the municipalities most affected by this. Our position was that, if the law is implemented, the priority should be to do so in a way that does not harm healthcare and education services,” he said.
