Serb List: Detention of directors politically motivated, Kurti and Rasic seek to intimidate Serbs

Serb List assessed that the decision by the authorities in Pristina to order detention of up to 30 days for seven Serbs from Kosovo is politically motivated and directed against, as they stated, honorable individuals who have dedicated their lives to healthcare, education, and serving the Serbian people.

In its statement, the Serb List said that those detained are Ljubisa Karadžic, principal of the “Miladin Mitic” Primary School in Laplje Selo; Boban Petrovic, principal of the Secondary Electro-Technical School in Susica; Milica Dimic, principal of the “Braca Aksic” Primary School in Lipljan; Nebojsa Rasic, principal of the Secondary Mechanical Engineering School in Preoce; Professor Dr. Bratislav Lazic, Director of the Clinical Hospital Center Pristina-Gracanica; Dr. Mirjana Dimitrijevic, Director of the Gracanica Health Center; and Dr. Sasa Mladenovic, Director of the Health Center in Donja Gusterica.

The Serb List claims that the persecution is being carried out with, as they state, the direct encouragement of Nenad Rasic and certain “quasi-journalists” who, according to the statement, agreed to participate in a crackdown against Serbian doctors, teachers, and respected community members.

“Through these arrests, Kurti and Rasic seek to intimidate all honorable Serb men and women who have refused to bow their heads and renounce their institutions, their people, and their State of Serbia,” the statement said.

They added that it is particularly concerning that, as they emphasized, the targets are people who have devoted their entire lives to treating the sick and educating children.

The Serb List expressed full support for those arrested and their families, stressing that they are not alone and that “the Serbian people will know how to stand by their doctors, professors, teachers, and all honorable people subjected to persecution.”

The Serb List also called on citizens for unity, solidarity, and cohesion, assessing that only in this way can the survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo be preserved.

“In these difficult times, we must show dignity, resistance, and unity against those to whom nothing is sacred and who are prepared, for the sake of personal interests and political privileges, to turn even against their own people,” the statement concluded.
