Serb List: Goal of the “concert” with Albanian musicians in North Mitrovica is to pressure the Serbs
The Serb List has stated that the decision by the regime in Pristina to organize, for the first time, a “concert” with Albanian musicians in the center of North Mitrovica and to bring members of the Self-Determination Movement into a Serb-majority municipality—at the same time as the traditional “Mitrovica Days” are being held—is part of Self-Determination’s political agenda aimed at exerting pressure on the Serbian people.
“This act is a deliberate and calculated provocation with the clear aim of escalating the situation and endangering the peace and security of citizens. It is a perfidious way to deny our people the right to freely organize cultural, artistic, and humanitarian events, which are an integral part of our identity and tradition,” the statement reads.
The Serb List warns that local business owners are being threatened with fines if they participate in the “Mitrovica Days” event, which they see as a direct form of pressure and intimidation, aimed at suppressing the cultural life of the Serbian community in Kosovo.
“We call on international representatives to stop Kurti’s plans, which are designed to provoke, raise tensions, and escalate the situation on the ground. The Serb List emphasizes that we, together with our people, will continue to defend our right to preserve our culture, tradition, and freedom of assembly, and we will not allow provocations and pressure to endanger our survival and dignity,” the party stated.
Meanwhile, final preparations are underway on the promenade in North Mitrovica for the “Mitrovica Days” event, which begins today, and at the same time, a stage is being set up at the beginning of the promenade for the “Mitrovica Jazz Days,” which is also scheduled to take place in the coming days, with the participation of international and Kosovo-based bands.
