Serb List stated that the inscription of graffiti reading “KLA” on the wall of the Jovanovic family house in the village of Mogila in the municipality of Vitina has further disturbed the Serbian community and represents a clear example of the atmosphere in which Serbs live today.

Serb List warned that such actions are not isolated incidents, but contribute to a sense of insecurity and fear among the Serbian people.

“We ask the competent authorities and international representatives whether we are witnessing the beginning of another political campaign in which incompetence and the lack of concrete results are being masked by raising tensions and creating instability among our fellow citizens. How is it possible that Serbian youth are arrested for fan T-shirts, while attackers on Serbs and their property as a rule remain unknown?” Serb List asked.

They point out that, instead of offering citizens solutions to everyday problems, we are witnessing moves that further deepen mistrust and fear, especially among the Serbian population.

Serb List notes that such a policy does not lead to dialogue, but deepens divisions and creates space for gaining cheap political points at the expense of Serbs.

“Serb List calls on the international community to invest additional efforts and take concrete, preventive actions in order to prevent further escalation of the situation. It is necessary to respond clearly and unequivocally to every attempt at destabilization and to protect the rights and security of the Serbian people,” the statement said.

It is also emphasized that peace, stability, and dialogue have no alternative.

“Any different course of action represents a step backward and a risk that no one should ignore,” the statement concludes.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija had previously reported on this incident and called for those responsible to be identified and adequately sanctioned, as well as for the international community to treat such cases with the utmost attention.
