Simic: We informed Costa about the campaign Kurti is waging against Serbs
Igor Simic, Vice President of the Serbian List, stated that representatives of the party had informed the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, about the campaign being conducted against the Serbian people, which has led many Serbs to leave Kosovo.
Simic emphasized that Serbs are leaving Kosovo because of security concerns rather than economic hardship.
“We warned him that the campaign currently being waged against the Serbian people has resulted in a large number of our compatriots leaving Kosovo and Metohija, not because of their economic situation, but because of security concerns and the actions being taken against our people. The campaign being carried out by Albin Kurti’s ruling Self-Determination Movement is, at this moment, based on a struggle against the Serbs,” Simic told TV Prva.
Earlier today, during talks with Costa, the Serb List delegation called for clearer and more decisive engagement by the European Union in protecting the rights of the Serbian people, upholding the rule of law, and preventing unilateral actions that further raise tensions on the ground. They also stressed the importance of respecting previously reached agreements, particularly the long-overdue establishment of the Community of Serb-Majority Municipalities, which was promised 13 years ago.
