Spahiu on the selection of ministers: Not promising

University professor Nexhmedin Spahiu stated that he does not approve of the selection of ministers by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, describing it as lacking perspective, Demokracia reports.

Spahiu argues that the ministers of education and health should be professors or doctors.

"The minister of education and the minister of health must be a professor and a doctor, it is an unwritten rule. The minister of culture should be someone who has something behind them, either a writer who has written five books, or someone who has held five exhibitions, or someone who has made five films. In my opinion, this is not promising, as has been evident from day one," Spahiu said.

Kosovo’s new government, Kurti’s third, was elected last night at an extraordinary session of parliament. The new-old Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced in his address plans to increase salaries, invest in the defense sector, and establish a new specialized prosecution office to combat corruption.

Regarding the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, he said it means "normalization between two states, as a bilateral relationship, and not as interference in internal affairs," adding that "the government will defend the Constitution and the law in every part of the country."
