Political analyst Nexhmedin Spahiu believes it is incorrect to interpret that the US employs double standards when it simultaneously calls on Serbia to bring Milan Radoicic to justice over the events in Banjska and criticizes Serbia for its proposed law on judicial jurisdiction in the territory of Kosovo, because, as he says, bringing someone to justice does not necessarily mean that Serbia must be the one to prosecute.

"Since, from the American perspective, Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state, the proposed law constitutes interference in the judiciary of another neighboring state. As for bringing someone to justice, it does not mean that Serbia must prosecute him (Radoicic), but rather that it must hand him over," Spahiu told Kosovo Online.

He further explains that Kosovo has prosecuted individuals who went to fight in Syria, which does not imply Kosovo was interfering in Syria's internal affairs or its judicial system.

"Cooperation between the judicial systems of states that have established mutual relations is a normal practice. Naturally, states without such relations do not cooperate. However, in this case, it concerns agreements on cooperation that have been reached, and this is a call to honor that cooperation," Spahiu stated.
