EU spokesperson Peter Stano stated that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities (CSM) will not be the main topic at the meeting in Brussels this Thursday, but emphasized that the issue is "always present," and that it is necessary to form the CSM without further delay.

Stano reminded at the press briefing that the establishment of the CSM is a long-standing demand and obligation of Kosovo that needs to be urgently fulfilled.

"This has been reiterated several times by the EU and at the highest level, the level of European leaders. If Kosovo fails to do so, it will not be seen as a positive sign of willingness to continue with the normalization of relations, which is now linked to Kosovo's success on the path to the EU," Stano said.

He noted that the meeting of the chief negotiators from Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels on Thursday will focus on issues discussed in previous weeks in Brussels, primarily on the consequences of the decision of the CBK regarding the dinar.

"So, the Association as such is not actually one of the main topics, but it is always present, at every meeting, in all our interactions with our Kosovo partners. Because it is one of the conditions that need to be fulfilled very urgently without any further delay," Stano emphasized.
