State Department advocates for a breakthrough in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, urging both sides to urgently engage in the dialogue and fully fulfill their obligations, including the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, The Pavlovic Today writes.

As stated in the article on thepavlovictoday.com, in the realm of international diplomacy, while Ukraine and Gaza take center stage, the Western Balkans remained insufficiently reported, and the EU-mediated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina was at a standstill after the Ohrid Agreement.

It is added that during this standstill, there is still an expectation for a solution regarding the establishment of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities in Kosovo.

As the end of 2023 approaches, Prime Minister Albin Kurti has yet to address this issue, despite the explicit stance of the United States, which emphasizes it as a legally binding obligation for Kurti.

"We have been clear in our position on this: The United States continues to support the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, mediated by the EU, as the only way to achieve peaceful and productive relations between Kosovo and Serbia", an unnamed State Department spokesperson said for The Pavlovic Today.

He added that the US reiterates calls to both countries to seriously and urgently engage in this goal.

"We reiterate our calls to both sides to fully implement all their obligations from the dialogue, including the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities", the State Department spokesperson said.
