NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed gratitude to KFOR members for their dedication, stating that establishing a secure environment in Kosovo was crucial for peace in the Western Balkans.

In a video message posted on the social network "X", Stoltenberg noted that we lived in a dangerous world and that security could not exist without strong defense forces.

"We live in a dangerous world. We have a war in the Middle East, and tensions in the Western Balkans have increased. Security cannot exist without strong defense forces. Therefore, over the past year, we have taken significant steps to support deterrence and defense by increasing the number of troops. This is not to provoke war but to prevent conflict and ensure peace", Stoltenberg emphasized.

He added that he had had the privilege of talking to KFOR members during the year.

"Last month, I met with KFOR members in Kosovo. Helping to establish a safe and secure environment for everyone in Kosovo is key to the stability of the Western Balkans", he pointed out.

He also thanked the KFOR soldiers, stating that without them, there would be no NATO, security, or freedom.

"We owe you gratitude. Thank you for your service, professionalism, and dedication", Stoltenberg concluded.
