Stoltenberg: I am in constant contact with Vucic, I am ready for the meeting

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated today in Vilnius that he is in constant contact with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and that he is ready to meet.

He made this statement before the start of the NATO summit, in response to Tanjug's question about whether he will meet with Vucic, as well as why KFOR allows the presence of special units from Pristina despite the opposition of the Serbs, and what can be done about it.

"We are monitoring the situation in northern Kosovo. We urge both sides to de-escalate and refrain from taking actions that would worsen the situation," Stoltenberg said, as reported by Euronews Serbia.

As he added, KFOR has increased its presence in Kosovo with several thousand additional soldiers in order to prevent "instability and violence" in the past few weeks.
