Stefan Surlic, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, stated that with the appointment of the new special envoy for the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce, the United Kingdom will continue its stable policy towards the region, which will include continuing pressure on Belgrade and supporting Pristina to achieve full membership in most international organizations, including the United Nations.

"I believe she continues a very stable and ongoing policy of the United Kingdom towards this region. It is clear that the United Kingdom is one of the biggest advocates for Kosovo in international organizations," Surlic told Kosovo Online.

He expects Pierce to also continue her personal efforts to see Kosovo in all international organizations, primarily as a full member of the United Nations.

"She personally advocated for Kosovo's membership in the United Nations. Following the previous British policy, as well as her own political biography, we can conclude that Britain will primarily continue the policy of pressure towards Belgrade and the policy of absolute support for Pristina to achieve full membership in all international organizations," emphasized Surlic.
