Titolo: Under the leadership of Vucic and Trump, Serbia–U.S. cooperation is stronger than ever
Cooperation between Serbia and the United States, under the leadership of President Aleksandar Vucic and Donald Trump, is stronger than ever, said today Alexander Titolo, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy, at the opening of a new section of the motorway on the Morava Corridor route, from the “Vrnjacka Banja” interchange to the “Vrba” interchange, approximately 14 kilometers long.
“It is an honor to be here and to see some of the fruits of our strong partnership. It is also an honor to be here with representatives of the company Bechtel, whose efforts have significantly contributed to this project,” Titolo said.
According to him, 2025 was an important year that marked the beginning of a new era in relations between Serbia and the United States.
“We are always proud when American companies share their expertise with local partners. It is fitting that we are closing out 2025 by celebrating this achievement. It was a significant year, as we ushered in a new era of relations between the United States and Serbia. I cannot imagine a better image to illustrate this new era of relations between our countries than a motorway—a symbol of connecting people,” Titolo emphasized.
He thanked President Vucic for the invitation to attend the opening of this section of the motorway and expressed hope that even more American companies would come to Serbia next year to share their knowledge and quality.
“Once again, thank you to everyone present who made this day possible. Happy New Year and Merry Christmas,” Titolo said.
Saygili: The Morava Corridor Project Reflects Serbia’s Vision; Relations with Türkiye Are Advancing
The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Serbia, Ilhan Saygili, noted that this project reflects Serbia’s strong vision for development and said he was pleased that a Turkish company, Bechtel-Enka, participated in the project together with an American partner.
“Relations between Serbia and Türkiye are built on trust, dialogue, and tangible results. Relations have advanced across all fields, from trade to tourism, thanks to the relationship between President Aleksandar Vucic and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,” Saygili stated.
He added that Turkish companies are successful worldwide and that over the past year they have generated approximately USD 20 billion through their projects.
