The decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) not to approve the publication of the election results for the Serb List is contrary to the right of Kosovo’s citizens to democratically elect their representatives, a spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Pristina told Kosovo Online in a written response.

“Any attempt to undermine this fundamental principle undermines the partnership between the United States and Kosovo,” the statement from the U.S. Embassy spokesperson emphasized.

At its most recent meeting, the Central Election Commission did not approve the publication of the election results for the Serb List. As a result, the Serb List today filed an appeal with the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel.

“On behalf of the Serb List, an appeal has just been filed with the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel against the unlawful, anti-Serb, and discriminatory decision of the Central Election Commission, which refused to publish the final results of the snap parliamentary elections for our party, thereby denying 42,759 votes cast by Serbs,” the party said in a statement.

The OSCE Mission in Kosovo also reacted today to the CEC’s decision, calling for respect for international election standards and the transparent publication of voting results.

“The OSCE Mission in Kosovo notes that the political party the Serb List has submitted an appeal to the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel in response to the Central Election Commission’s failure last week to officially publish the votes they received in the December 2025 elections,” the Mission stated in a post on X.

Kosovo Online has also reported on this issue, with its interlocutors pointing out that the CEC’s decision indicates a desire by the Self-Determination Movement to label the Serb List and raises suspicions that the Commission has become a political body that accepts only those election results it finds acceptable.
