US: Kurti and Vucic should be flexible in Ohrid; implement the European proposal in full
The United States expected that Kosovo and Serbia would use the meeting in Ohrid on March 18 to demonstrate their commitment to a region with a peaceful future, the State Department told Gazeta Express.
When asked what the US expectations were from the March 18 meeting in Ohrid, an unnamed spokesperson for the US State Department said that they "expect Kosovo and Serbia to use the March 18 meeting in Ohrid to demonstrate their commitment to a peaceful future for the region."
He added that the US encouraged Kosovo and Serbia to work constructively and flexibly on the full implementation of the Franco-German proposal and reiterated its strong support for the dialogue led by the European Union.
"We expect that the two sides will use the talks in Ohrid, North Macedonia, to demonstrate their commitment to a peaceful future for the region. We encourage the parties to continue to engage constructively and flexibly as they move toward the full implementation of this proposal. We fully support the dialogue mediated by the European Union," the State Department spokesman said.
