Vogel: Kalas will be tougher on Serbia than Borrell and Lajcak ever were

The confirmation of Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kalas as the head of European diplomacy is considered very positive news for Kosovo, especially in the context of the dialogue process for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia under the auspices of the European Union, and foreign policy expert Toby Vogel says that she will be much tougher on Serbia than Josep Borrell and Miroslav Lajcak ever were, the Albanian Post reports.
"As for the dialogue, it has long been dead and needs a complete restart, but I think it is quite clear that Kalas, in terms of atmosphere and perhaps policy, will be tougher on Belgrade than the Borrell-Lajcak duo," Vogel emphasized, among other things.
One of the main criticisms against Borrell has been that he and Lajcak came from two EU countries that did not recognize Kosovo – Spain and Slovakia – and that, despite not mediating the dialogue on behalf of those countries, they did not fully represent the EU's stance.
